Everest Group Recognizes 4L Data Intelligence as a Major Contender in Its First Pre-Payment Integrity Solutions Assessment
The healthcare payment integrity market has reached an inflection point. Payers are moving decisively from post-payment recovery to pre-payment accuracy, ending the pay-and-chase cycle that legacy claims data-centric systems were never built to prevent. Everest Group made that shift official in July by publishing its first dedicated Pre-Payment Integrity Solutions PEAK Matrix® Assessment 2026. 4L Data Intelligence was named a Major Contender among the 28 providers evaluated.
Ankur Verma, Everest Group Healthcare Vice President, explained 4L’s inclusion as a ‘Major Contender’ this way: "As health plans shift payment integrity left, FWA detection is becoming a critical layer of cost-saving operations. Payers are now looking to go a step further and address the problem at the provider level, since risk tied to the provider is often not visible from claims data alone. 4L Data Intelligence, through its Integr8 AI™ engine, brings provider-level context into claims editing, helping flag unusual billing patterns that standard rules-based edits might miss. Its experience serving health plans across varied lines of business and sizes is reflected in referenced client feedback, which highlights 4L Data Intelligence's robust provider data and data accuracy as key strengths. This feedback, together with its differentiated approach of detecting FWA at the provider level, contributed to 4L Data Intelligence's positioning as a Major Contender in Everest Group's Pre-Payment Integrity Solutions PEAK Matrix® Assessment 2026.”

Everest Group's assessment reflects the same direction 4L's Fraud Advisory Council reached earlier this year during the annual collaboration in Dana Point, CA. The council’s focus on shifting payment integrity left became the whitepaper title from the event: "Shift Hard Left.” That paper explained the critical importance of moving payment integrity into the network, prior authorization, and clearinghouse before bolstering detection in the adjudication process. You can read the whitepaper here.
"Preventing fraud, waste, and abuse before the conventional payment integrity process even starts has been a focus of 4L’s from the start," said Clay Wilemon, 4L Chief Executive Officer. "The Everest Group recognition confirms that a provider-centric approach, built on patented, provider-centric Integr8 AI, is a critical part of how payers can stop improper payments and reduce a lot of the administrative costs associated with today’s stacks of point solutions."
